About the Conference
Join Once Upon A Preemie, Inc. for a two-day conference for all who support the lives of Black Birthing mothers, infants, and families. On Day 1, we will host our Pre-Conference Party for A Cause–an evening of cocktails, dancing, live and silent auctions, and networking. On Day 2, we will hold the Black Maternal Health and Neonatal Equity Conference: Parents, Practitioners, Policies, and Solutions, which will empower healthcare professionals and parent advocates to eliminate health disparities and center voices, lived experiences, and solutions from black birthing and preemie families. This conference is in joint partnership with Perinatal Advisory Council: Leadership, Advocacy, And Consultation (PAC/LAC) and offers continuing education credits for healthcare professionals.
Who is the Conference for?
We welcome all who are invested in driving equitable solutions in Black Maternal Health and Neonatal Care.
THOSE WHO PARTICIPATE IN THE Black Maternal Health and Neonatal Equity Conference will:
- Deepen their understanding of the prenatal and neonatal lived experiences for Black birthing families .
- Explore local community, breastfeeding, and policy innovations that are driving equitable outcomes for Black birthing and NICU families
- Learn about neonatal equity perspectives, challenges, and opportunities from Neonatologist
- Gain actionable skills to drive culturally appropriate perinatal and neonatal care to improve quality, equity, safety, and family centered care
- Obtain Black Maternal Health and Neonatal Equity best practices and solutions from the lived experiences of parents, practitioners, policy and community advocates
